Apparently all the cool bloggers are compiling Listicles these days. With that in mind, here are Six Artists working with the Beehive motif. It must be a tradition, or an old charter or something.

Of course the competition is intense for a place in the Old Entomologist social-insect-themed Bienniale. Below, prize-winning photographer Frau Doktorin Penny, having found a cluster of hives combining a neo-cubist aesthetic with the subtle pastel hues of cheap undercoat paint, works to achieve the perfect composition and framing:

Apparently they were the Wrong Kind of Bees. I had advised her to prepare herself with a blue balloon so that the bees would think she was a small black cloud in a blue sky, but does anyone ever heed my helpful suggestions? DO THEY BOGROLL.

"No sententious digressions into medievalism and the Art of Memory?" Another Kiwi vouchsafed. "Are you all right?"

"You're right," I said; "I almost forget. It must be too much of the madman's honey."
